Textile Decorated Elephants
We looked at pictures of ceremonial decorated Indian elephants and then designed our own. We used batik, fabric dye and paint.
Textile Project
All the art classes contributed to this tree wall-hanging. It was made using batik, fabric painting, printing and collage. We have donated this piece to the Family Centre attached to Highgate Primary School who are delighted with it!
Paintings Inspired by Lowry
We looked at the work of Lowry and liked how his pictures were full of lots of people. We then made our own paintings of fireworks night.
Holiday Workshops
In our textile printing workshop we used screenprinting and block printing to decorate our own bags.
In the second workshop we made images using mosaic and paint, we worked on the theme of animals in their environment.

New Term
Its a new term and we've been thinking about ourselves and what is important to us. We all made collages depicting things we hold dear, framed by the shape of our home.

Trees
Our latest project has been making our own 3 dimensional tree with card. Once we had costructed the tree we then made a scene around the tree with tree houses, picnics, swings and much more.
Depicting distance in landscape
After looking at the work of various artists we discussed different devices atists use to depict space and then made our own picture.
Puppets
Our new project has been designing and making our own puppet using clay and string. It was a complicated design working out where the strings should go and how each puppet should move.
Weaving
We've also been keeping ouselves busy weaving. We made a base with card, drilling holes and fixing willow sticks with glue guns.
Shopping
Once we had designed our shop we thought about what our promotional carrier bags andboxes would look like.
Designing our own High Street
We have been thinking about the kind of shops we would like to see in the High Street. All the classes then combined their work to make a long street with all our favourite shops. We then added customers, bus stops, post boxes and even traffic wardens!
